Welcommon Athens, 2017
Social Cooperative Anemos Ananeosis, assigned me to lead a photography course to young refugees from Syria in Athens Refugee Hosting Center Welcommon. Aside I set a mini-studio in order to shoot their portraits. That was a big hit, many people who stay there wanted a portrait to remember.
One day -while shooting- helicopters and jets were flying above us for greek independence day parade. Wahida (12), shut her ears and said to me: I don’t like this.
When I gave Ali (14), his picture he showed it to his dad and then came very proud to tell me that his father told him he was looking like a man.
They wait for relocation and none of them are seeking asylum from greek authorities.
Stay tuned.
